American Airlines
At American Airlines, our purpose is to care for people on life's journey. With thousands of daily flights to more than 350 destinations across 60 countries, we understand the responsibility that comes with our global reach. Millions of people trust American to transport them safely across borders and communities, and we are committed to ensuring that every journey is safe, dignified, and free from exploitation.
American is deeply committed to respecting human rights, including combating illegal human trafficking and child exploitation. This commitment is embedded in our Standards of Business Conduct and our Human Rights Statement, which guide our team members around the world. We work to ensure our operations are not complicit in human rights abuses and that our people have the tools, awareness, and confidence to act when something does not look right.
Training is the foundation of our prevention efforts. Each year, American provides mandatory human trafficking awareness training to more than 70,000 frontline team members--including flight attendants, pilots, and airport customer service representatives. As our program emphasizes, "vigilance is key in fighting human trafficking and modern slavery," and this training equips our people to recognize indicators of trafficking and report concerns through appropriate channels.
Our commitment is further exemplified in the leadership of our Professional Women in Aviation (PWA) Team Member Business Group, which champions human trafficking awareness across its chapters. PWA collaborates with organizations such as New Friends New Life to support survivors in the Dallas-Fort Worth community, extending American's impact through advocacy, volunteerism, and education.
A central pillar of our work is collaboration with organizations that share our mission, and our partnership with PACT is among the most meaningful. American is a signatory to the PACT Tourism Child Protection Code of Conduct, reinforcing our dedication to protecting children from sexual exploitation and trafficking. We also support PACT's advocacy and survivor-led initiatives by donating AAdvantage® miles, enabling members of PACT's Survivors' Council to travel to meetings with lawmakers, participate in community education efforts, and share their expertise to strengthen prevention policies. This collaboration reflects our belief that survivor voices must be at the center of anti-trafficking efforts.
Beyond PACT, American partners with the DHS Blue Campaign, the Blue Lightning Initiative, the Governor's Council to Combat Human Trafficking in Arizona, Texas Businesses Against Trafficking, It's a Penalty, and New Friends New Life. Together, these partnerships strengthen reporting pathways, expand awareness, and help support survivors across the communities we serve.
American is honored to be recognized by PACT for our ongoing efforts. We remain committed to using our global platform, our partnerships, and the dedication of our people to help end human trafficking and to ensure that every person can travel with dignity, safety, and hope.
