Dr. Takila Simmons

Dr. Takila Simmons is a Clinical Social Worker with over eighteen years of experience in the mental health field; working with adults and children suffering from mental health illness, trauma, developmental disabilities, substance use, and behavioral concerns. She has worked at a community mental health agency where she provided services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use concerns. Also as an interventionist II where she provided crisis services to children and adults suffering from suicidal, homicidal, psychosis, and substance use concerns. Dr. Simmons has provided psychotherapy to children and adults suffering from trauma. Currently, she works for the U.S. Federal Government, Department of Veterans Affairs where she provides clinical services to Veterans and their families, as well as an adjunct professor at three universities.
