Unpacking Human Trafficking
Unpacking Human Trafficking is a summary of the laws in the United States relating to the display of human trafficking awareness posters in lodging facilities, the requirement that employees be trained to recognize and handle suspected incidents of human trafficking, and if hotels are civilly and/or criminally liable.
PACT’s 30-minute hotel e-training is currently approved for use in several states and cities with formal approval processes. These include the states of Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, and Virginia, as well as the cities of Baltimore, Houston, and Jacksonville. In Iowa, while there is no mandatory training law in place, PACT’s training is approved for use when paired with an Iowa-specific video. Additionally, although California and New York have mandatory hotel training requirements, they do not have an official approval process. Nonetheless, companies in both states actively use PACT’s training to fulfill those requirements.
